Stamping Nail Art

Recently, I discovered about stamping nail art. I never knew or heard about it until I saw it on some of the videos on YouTube. Stamping Nail Art is a new nail-imprinting kit that lets you put designs by stamping pre-designed images on your nails in minutes. I think it's neat and very easy to do.

I ordered a set of image plates and the stamper/scraper via eBay. I didn't get the Konad brand because they costs way more. I just bought the cheaper stuff to try out first. This is another new kind of nail art I am experimenting. I tried my nails with the Hello Kitty design. By the way, I was never into this Hello Kitty thing before but I got used to it (and it is pretty cute). I'll have more designs to show you guys soon!

My hands tend to become really dry during the cold season, but I try to maintain my nails from chipping. It happens.

Bling Jewels: The Ultimate Hairstyle Accessory

I recently discovered a cool kind of accessory for hair. I thought it was neat and wanted to try it. I was given the opportunity to review the Bling Jewels hair jewels (diamonds for your hair). I received 2 packs: one is the diamond color and the other is the LT Amethyst. I tried a few for fun and thought I'd save the rest to use for an upcoming occasion (friends wedding).

What are Bling Jewels? They are genuine crystals that attach to a hairstyle with a keratin bond much like a hair extension. They are perfect for special occasions. They can be done at home using a simple flat iron. The jewels can be placed anywhere and will remain through a few washings, but can be removed with simple rubbing alcohol.

The jewels were easy to apply using my flat iron. I had a few comments about it from a few people. They asked me how I attached it and what it was. I explained it to them and told them about BlingStrands.com. So I left it on for almost a week and none of them had fallen out. The only trouble is fixing my messy hair in the morning the next day. I only used it on my front bangs on the side. I have really long hair and to be very careful as I wasn't able to comb that part. Overall, it was pretty fun to style and it's pretty cool to add a bit of sparkle to the hair.

Jewels should be attached to finished hairstyles. Perfect for brides, prom, and formal up-do's and even gives sparkle to your everyday hairstyle.
- Made from multi-faceted genuine Czech crystals
- Bonds to the hair with a flat iron
- Place anywhere in your style
- Easily removed

WHERE TO BUY?
Bling Jewels are available for purchase directly from BlingStrands.com website at $12 each pack of 24. They come in eight different colors.

Disclosure: I received 2 sets of Bling Jewels at no charge in exchange for a review of my opinion. Thanks to It's a Glam Thing and BlingStrands. The opinions expressed are my own personal and honest thoughts. No other compensation was given.

SecuraTrac SecuraPAL Guardian GPS {Review}

I was given the opportunity to test out the SecuraPAL Guardian GPS by SecuraTrac.  It's very good idea if you are a busy parent and are traveling with kids to make sure they are safe.  SecuraPAL Guardian GPS locator is durable and perfect for children, seniors, and pets. It weighs just 2.5 ounces and works in 120 countries and comes ready to use. The device can be purchased or rented, depending on your preference.

How It Works

The SecuraPAL (Personal Automated Locator) is a small device that fits into your child's pocket or backpack. It uses the global positioning system satellites and the mobile phone networks to pinpoint your child's location and and report it back to the SecuraTrac network. The Guardian works well for children of all ages and needs.

Parents now have the comfort of knowing that they can find their children should they lose their way. The device has also been shown to work well for those who care for the elderly particularly those with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other conditions associated with memory loss. In addition to loved ones, SecuraPAL's work well for tracking anything that is important to you including your pets, cars, and luggage.

The SecuraPAL proactively and automatically notifies you when it leaves pre-defined boundaries or SecuraFences. These fences are setup with just a few clicks of your mouse and your first SecuraFence comes preset based on your home address.

1 SecuraPAL monitors its location using a network of GPS satellites.
2SecuraTrac will notify you and other designated people of its location at regular intervals or when configured thresholds are breached.

MY EXPERIENCE:
First, I charged the device while I setup and personalized my account on SecuraTrac website. Setting up and customizing one my profile on the SecuraTrac website was a breeze. I was able to change the device name on the account, but I couldn't the icon when I was given the choice. When I click "change icon", there was no icon list -- just a blank pop up screen.

Also, another disappointing thing is that I had a hard time getting the SecuraPAL to locate the satellites and have it working. I waited at least 30 minutes with the GPS outside, but still couldn't get the map to show my current location in my account on the SecuraTrac website. I took it with me while I was out and haven't had any luck. No response from customer service or tech support so I gave up.

I would use the SecuraPAL Guardian for Brandon if he stays at a daycare or with a babysitter. I want to make sure he's safe whenever I'm not around to watch him. This is where I set SecuraFences. SecuraFences are boundaries that designate your safe havens. You can add additional fences on the website on your account "My Devices" on their website.

The only place I can put the device on Brandon is in his pants pockets (with buttons). He doesn't have many pants that have pockets. There's a strap-hole where I can loop a neck strap or wrist strap, but the device is a bit too big for Brandon because he's very little. He felt uncomfortable when I slipped it inside his outer shirt to hide it.

I think the SecuraPAL device is more useful for children who are older. Older children tend to wander around a lot more and the device is the perfect size for them. Also, they also have a better understanding of how the unit works.

With SecuraTrac SecuraPAL GPS Child Tracking Device, you can use today's ground-breaking technology to make sure you know exactly where your children, elderly relatives, pets and other loved ones are at ALL TIMES.

PROS
- small and lightweight
- long battery life
- allows me to set "fences" and boundary limits
- shows accurate location of the SecuraPAL device
- fast response of notifications and alerts to cell phone/email

CONS
- shipping and product availability took a while
- took a VERY long time (almost an hour) to get the GPS to locate the satellites
- a bit pricey

Disclosure: I received a test unit of the SecuraPAL to try in exchange for a review of my opinion. The device was returned to the company. Thanks to Asylum PR and SecuraTrac. The opinions expressed are my own personal and honest thoughts. No other compensation was given.

Portable Flexible Tripod for Digital Camera Review & Giveaway (Closed)

I take a lot of photos and occasionally I use books or objects to hold up my camera. I had a standard tripod, but it was too bulky to carry around so I rarely use it. Recently, I was given the opportunity to try the Portable Flexible Tripod for Digital Camera that is available from BudgetGadgets.com. Shipping time was reasonable and received it just less than 3 weeks. However, it came without a box or instructions. Instructions and diagrams can be found on their website. It feels very lightweight, yet it is also very sturdy. I have used the tripod with my smaller cameras. With the camera quick release, I had trouble removing it at first. With a little adjustment and twisting, I was able to detach and attach smoothly.

What's neat about it is that it can be wrapped around a tree branch or a pole when I'm outside taking pictures and lets you do self-timer shots at any angle. Say goodbye to holding your camera at arm's length to take a photo of yourself and your friends. Now you can be free to pose however you like!

Features:
* Fits into your purse, backpack, or jacket pocket
* Innovative segmented leg design to ensure secure mounting
* Enables extra security to ensure your camera is safely attached
* Stays connected to your camera for nearly instant setup
* Made of hard plastic, strong and flexible
* Flexible joints bend and rotate 360 degree to form the perfect shape
* Rubber foot grips provide extra gripping and prevent slipping

I also received a Screen Protector film for iPad. This product is for protecting the screen from scratches and glare. The good: It was very easy to apply and it was perfect in size and contour. While I applied it, it had bubbles in it so used a card to push it out to the edges. My toddler plays his games on my iPad sometimes, so the protector film will keep it in good condition. The bad: I originally received it damaged with bents and folds with cuts on the protector film. It was packed with the mentioned tripod in a bubble pack, but was not shipped in a box. I wish they had shipped it in a box together to prevent the protector film being bent/folded. I was able to try it and applied it on my new iPad screen, but it looked like it had horrible scratches due to the damaged parts. It will protect the LCD screen for now.

New Interscope Artist: MOHOMBI

Introducing....
New Interscope Artist: MOHOMBI

Mohombi (mo-HAHM-bee) that has been very popular over in Europe (especially France and Sweden). He’s now making his way into the US market with his upcoming debut album that was produced by Grammy-winning producer RedOne (Akon, Lady Gaga), expected to be out in Spring or early Summer 2011. His music is fun, raw and definitely appeals to the ladies!

But don’t let his good looks fool you – this guy also speaks 5 languages fluently, comes from a very large family (has 15 siblings), and is an incredibly cultured young man (his mother is from Sweden and his father is from the African Congo). He escaped the war in the Congo in the ‘90s with his brother and sister, and after working hard through his teens to build his music career, he and his brother rose to stardom in Europe and Africa, eventually winning an African Grammy.

Check out his new music videos here:

Bumpy Ride (current single out now)

Dirty Situation (featuring Akon)

You can also check out Mohombi's Official YouTube channel here.

Abraham Inc.: Tweet-Tweet

Have you heard about this Klezmer-funk-jazz band called Abraham Inc.? I've never really heard about them until recently when I was told about them and was introduced to their music.

About Abraham Inc.

With Abraham Inc. klezmer clarinet virtuoso DAVID KRAKAUER collaborates with one of the great masters of funk, trombonist FRED WESLEY (known for his work with James Brown, Bootsy Collins and Parliament Funkadelic), and beat architect SOCALLED. Add a three-piece horn section led by Wesley and members of Krakauer’s Klezmer Madness! band and the result is an all-out klezmer-funk dance party! A sold out concert at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in December 2006 marked the first step in this collaborative venture which was also a hit at Transmusical de Rennes – one of the largest rock festivals in Europe, where it met with a resounding response from the crowds and a rave review in Le Monde. Abraham Inc. then brought down the house at the historic Apollo Theater in May 2008 with a performance that had the crowd dancing in the aisles. U.S. tour and CD release coming soon.

“Abraham Inc is about bringing people together, cultures together, music together -- and it’s just an amazingly great time.” -- David Krakauer

The group has produced their first music video for their title track “Tweet Tweet” and can be viewed on YouTube.

ABRAHAM INC.: (l to r) David Krakauer, Socalled, and Fred Wesley

When I was given the opportunity to listen to their tracks, I thought it was really fantastic. I'm someone who is into upbeat music and techno and I found that every track in the album were very enjoyable. Their music is a combination of jazz, rock, hip-hop, and klezmer with an incredible beat. It got my foot and fingers tapping away. Funky and groovy! If you haven't got a chance to listen to the album yet, I would recommend it.

You can follow Abraham Inc. on MySpace and on Facebook.

Track Titles:
1. Tweet-Tweet
2. Moskowitz Remix
3. It's Not the Same (Figure it Out)
4. The H Tune (Hava Nagila)
5. Trombonik
6. Push
7. Baleboste: A Beautiful Picture
8. Fred the Tzadik
9. Abe Inc Techno Mix

Musicians: David Krakauer (clarinet), Fred Wesley (trombone), Socalled (sampler, piano, organ, vocals), C Rayz Walz (rap vocals), Katie Moore, Matthew Flowers, Joshie Armstead, Alicia Krakauer (vocals), Sheryl Bailey, Alan Watsky (guitars), Jerome Harris (bass), Michael Sarin (drums), Freddie Hendrix (trumpet), Brandon Wright (tenor saxophone), Will Holshouser (accordion), Jordan Dare (techno remix)

WHERE TO BUY?
The album is available at local retail stores or on Amazon.com.

Disclosure: I received digital audio files for listening in exchange for my review. Thanks to Absolute Pitch PR and Abraham Inc./Table Pounding Records. The opinions expressed are my own personal and honest thoughts. No other compensation was given.
